Day 4 of 12 Days with Chef Veggie
Wheatsville Co-Op has been part of the Austin community since the late 70’s. We want these local businesses to continue to grow, especially cooperatives because they are community-owned and operated. I’ve been an owner since 2007. Wheatsville offers so many local products including produce from nearby farms like JBG, fermented veggies, baked goods housemade specialties like popcorn tofu. They also carry hard to find vegan foods like Butler Soycurls and Fair Trade gifts. Wheatsville also donates to an organization in our community every month. December 2020 is Caritas of Austin.
Free Curbside Pickup
Wheatsville been offering FREE curbside pickup and online ordering since October. Their staff is the friendliest bunch! That’s why I donated masks to them in April. If you are someone who still shops at Whole Foods, please consider shopping there for a change. You will be pleasantly happy and a bonus is none of those wasteful mylar bubble wrap bags are used.
