Vegan MoFo 2014 Begins

Vegan MoFo 2014 It’s the 1st of September and I hope you are enjoying yourself this Labor Day!

Get ready for a great month full of vegan goodness all over the web.
I’m so happy to participate this year and hope it will be an awesome community building event.

Here’s what I have planned for the month:

Meet You Mondays – I hope to visit new vegan blogs and send lots of love and encouragement.
I will make a list of at least 5 and mention something special about them.

Recipe Wednesdays – I’ll send out some of my best recipes to my blog readers

Fermentation Fridays – I’ve really got into fermenting lately and will be sharing all of my bubbly creations.

I may have occasional posts on the other days of the week, but I didn’t want to get over zealous! Since it’s Monday, let me introduce you to a few new-to-me vegan blogs that I found on the Vegan MoFo feed:

TofuParty – This cookbook addict is going to make 20 different dishes from 20 different vegan cookbooks during Vegan MoFo.

Conscientious Cookie – Alicia creates gluten and allergen free baked goods, especially cookies.  I look forward to see her opening her own bakery!

Faster Pussy Cat, Run! Run!  –  I detest running but maybe you love it.  If so, this blogger shares her running tips, vegan energy bar recipes and the like. I look forward to reading about her DIY tofu press.

Elephantastic Vegan – Bianca lives in Austria and shares vegan recipes and urban gardening tips.  I love mushrooms and her Chanterelle Pizza looks fantastic.

Mary’s Test Kitchen – Mary is a vegan graphic and web designer who also shares recipes and reflections on being vegan. I’ve made hemp milk and she has an easy tutorial to share with you so you can make it at home too.

See you on Wednesday with a recipe!

Oh thank you for listing me on your first Meet You Monday.

I’m really looking forward to your Fermentation Friday posts. Unfortunately, the only thing I have ever fermented has been by accident….

Thanks 🙂 What did you ferment by accident? It’s happened to me with salsa and pineapple. From what I’ve been reading, that as long as you don’t have mold, it is OK.

Hi Cristina, welcome to your first year of Vegan MoFo, and good luck to you! I’m looking forward to your recipes and fermentation posts. I’ve never tried fermenting anything, myself, so I find this theme super interesting!
Thanks so much for the support and listing me in your Meet You Monday!

Thanks Alicia! I bet you would like making something like coconut yogurt or apple wine. You could use those in your baking recipes. If I can find unpasteurized apple juice or make apple juice myself sometime this month, I will give it a try.

    Dear Cristina,
thank you so much for including me in your first meet you monday.
I think it’s great, that you have a plan for the Vegan MoFo.
As a total noob in fermenting, I will be especially excited for your fermentation fridays.
    Have a nice MoFo!
